Boating Ruby & Horsethief Canyons!

Floating the Colorado River through Ruby and Horsethief Canyons is an incredible experience that is steadily growing in popularity among residents and visitors alike. In fact, just last year, this stunning stretch of river hosted just under 21,000 river runners!

Summer Camping Permits!

Camping reservations are always required for this section, however, during the high use season, from May 1st  – Sept. 30th,  there is a small fee associated with each reservation. High use season reservations are now open and can be made up to 60 days prior to the date requested.  To make your reservation visit Recreation.gov or click here

Fees from last year's visits generated approximately $100,000 in revenue that the BLM is using for boat ramp and campsite improvements, permit administration, and river ranger patrols.

High use season reservations are now open and can be made up to 60 days prior to the date requested.

Know Before You Go!

The pristine beauty of Ruby and Horsethief Canyons can only be maintained when boaters follow the rules of the river.  That's why CCA has developed, and is currently releasing, a series of five short videos to demonstrate how responsible boaters can easily minimize their impact both on the environment and their fellow boaters.  To watch the videos, click here!
