Earth Science Lecture Series - The Jurassic Was Smelly
Come join Dr. Julia McHugh, Curator of Paleontology at the Museums of Western Colorado Dinosaur Journey, to learn about the amazing life of fossil bones after (and during) death! It takes a lot to become a fossil, and lots of things can happen to a bone before it is fossilized. Dr. McHugh is leading a team of scientists nationwide to unravel the stories told by the bones found right here in western Colorado. “The more we learn about the Jurassic Period, the more we realize how bad it would have smelled,” she says. Come to this free lecture and learn about the life after death of Colorado’s dinosaurs.
