To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the congressional designation of McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, the BLM and its partners invite you to join on a variety of events to celebrate and learn about the incredible resources in your NCA!
About the lecture
With wildfires increasing in size and frequency throughout Colorado, government agencies have had to find innovative new ways to respond to fire with restoration treatments. In this lecture BLM ecologist, Dr. Nikki Grant-Hoffman, will speak about her recent studies involving seeding native versus non-native plant communities after a wildfire and explain how it impacts the overall health of the landscape in McInnis Canyons NCA.
Dr. Madeline (Nikki) Grant-Hoffman currently works for the BLM’s National Landscape Conservation System in Grand Junction, CO. She works directly with McInnis Canyons and Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Areas. Her work is varied based on the needs of the areas where she works but includes restoration after fire, riparian restoration, wildlife habitat monitoring, as well as NEPA and other government documentation.
This lecture will be held virtually on Zoom and is free. You will get more information on how to access the lecture after registration.
