What: Desert bighorn sheep are native to the desert canyons of Colorado, but disappeared from the modern landscape. Colorado Parks and Wildlife, in partnerships with land-owning federal agencies, reintroduced these special sheep back into these areas. The desert bighorn sheep in Colorado are monitored, studied and managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife in coordination with those federal agencies. This talk will cover the history, reintroduction, biology, management and current status of desert bighorn sheep in the Black Ridge Sheep Herd that live in the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and the Colorado National Monument.

This event is free and open to the public.
