In May 2020, the Sieber Fire burned 1,094 acres in McInnis Canyons NCA. Much of the fire burned Gunnison sage grouse habitat and, if not restored, the landscape could be taken over by cheatgrass. To avoid this, the BLM will be conducting a restoration project in the affected areas. Help CCA and the BLM collect sagebrush seed to restore the landscape burned by the Sieber Fire.
When: November 16th and 17th (Monday and Tuesday); exact times have not been decided yet, but expect it to take about 4 hours. You can choose to volunteer on either or both dates. Must RSVP.
