Every year, volunteers come together on National Public Lands Day to help restore and improve public lands in their backyard. Join CCA on September 26th to clean up the highway outside of Rabbit Valley! In addition to National Public Lands Day, we will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area!
When: Saturday, September 26th from 9 AM - 12 PM
Where: Meet at the Rabbit Valley staging area (Exit 2 off of I-70)
What you’ll be doing: CCA has adopted a section of highway within McInnis Canyons NCA from mile marker 2-4 outside of Rabbit Valley. Although it may not sound glamorous, keeping the highway clean is essential to protecting the landscape of the NCA. Whether an animal ingests plastic or trash blows further into the NCA, you can do your part in keeping McInnis Canyons pristine. Expect ~2 miles of walking along the highway as we bag trash.
Please bring: Snacks, water, work gloves, a face covering, long pants, and closed-toed shoes
We’ll provide: Trash bags, disposable gloves, tools, orange vests, hand sanitizer, and National Public Lands Day t-shirts
Group size will be limited. RSVP required!
We still have space in our Gunnison Gorge National Public Lands Day event! Learn more and sign up here.
