Leave No Trace Trainer Course for Volunteers

Put the Leave No Trace (LNT) principles into action! Join CCA and West Slope Outdoor Volunteers for our LNT Trainer Course for volunteers in McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area.

When: Thursday & Friday, February 20th-21st (16 hours total)

Where: Dinosaur Hill Pavilion; McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area

What: The 7 Leave No Trace principles are guiding ethics on how to recreate responsibly in the outdoors. These principles are important to anyone who enjoys the outdoors - volunteer included! As you volunteer on your public lands, we want to make sure you are role models for demonstrating the LNT principles & spreading awareness to other visitors. In this course, you will gain the tools to successfully share and teach your own LNT Awareness course.

This course is valued at $200/person, with very limited spots. Please only register if you are absolutely sure you will be able to attend (for all 16 hours).

You should come prepared for ~2 miles of light hiking, as 10 of the 16 hours will be spent outside. Indoor location TBD, but please dress warmly and dress in layers as it will most likely be chilly. Please bring plenty of water and sun protection. Be ready to have some fun, too!

For questions, please email morgan@canyonsassociation.org or call (970)263-7902.

This course is specifically geared towards LNT when volunteering on our public lands. We hope that you are an active and involved volunteer with CCA or one of the other WSOV partners if you registered for this course. If you’d like to become a volunteer with us, sign up here!
