What: Edd Franz, recently retired former manager of Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, shares thoughts and reflections from a 30+ year career in public lands management. From the Hoosier heartland to Utah’s canyon country, from fighting the great Yellowstone fires of 1988 to preserving antebellum plantation structures in the Deep South, and from the Cascade Mountains of Washington state to the Green Mountains of Vermont he will discuss some of our special places and the agencies and people who work together to care for them.

About the speaker
Edd Franz moved around a bit as a kid, living in Indiana, Texas, California, and the Mediterranean coast of Libya, but mostly grew up in southern Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelors degree in General Studies. He immediately headed west to the places he will be discussing in the presentation. He continues to live in Montrose, Colorado and loves life on the western slope.
