Collin Ewing moving to new position with BLM
Collin Ewing, manager of McInnis Canyons and Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Areas (NCAs) and long-time partner with CCA, is moving to a new position as manager of the Bureau of Land Management’s Arcata Field Office on California’s North Coast.
Collin has managed the two local NCAs for nine years and during that time has helped CCA grow to better steward the areas. He has used his previous experience with the Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service to develop and maintain partnerships for BLM and the National Conservation Lands that are critical in managing the natural and cultural resources of our cherished landscapes.
In his new role, Collin will oversee a staff of about 30 and a public land base of about 250,000 acres in parts of Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity and Mendocino counties. The field office jurisdiction includes the King Range National Conservation Area, the Headwaters Forest Reserve, parts of the California Coastal National Monument, and seven wilderness areas. These areas have national significance as part of BLM’s system of National Conservation Lands.
All of us at CCA wish Collin and his family the best as they move to the North Coast. We will miss his strong support for the BLM and CCA partnership and his commitment to our NCAs.
