CCA's Leadership Transition

After four years as the Executive Director of CCA, Chris Herrman is stepping down from the role. Nick Zielinski will be stepping in as CCA’s Interim Executive Director.

Chris has a long history with the organization - he served on the CCA Board from 2010-2011 and was Board Chair from 2012-2013. Over the years, he has been integral in strengthening CCA's mission and advancing education and stewardship initiatives in Colorado's National Conservation Areas.

Chris will be sticking around to help with the staffing transition for the next few months and you'll be sure to see him out in the NCAs biking and fishing! Thank you, Chris!

And now, we're excited to re-introduce you to Nick Zielinski, our new Interim Executive Director! Here are a few words from Nick:

“My family and I moved to Grand Junction in 2019. We love the outdoors and spend most of our free time hiking, mountain biking, rafting and fly fishing. Prior to our move, I was director of an environmental education school, summer camp and retreat center near Idyllwild, CA. From 2019 - 2024, I worked in administration for two local public charter schools. In 2023, I joined the CCA Board of Directors. I suppose that’s all just to say that I am passionate about education, the outdoors and our public lands. I am thrilled to be here!"

Join us in welcoming Nick to his new role!
