Hello CCA Community,

Happy New Year! I am very excited to start off the new decade as Executive Director of Colorado Canyons Association. From the beginning of the organization in 2006 as Friends of McInnis Canyons, CCA has grown into one of the premiere Friends groups in the country through our mission to foster education, stewardship, and awareness of our National Conservation Lands. Last year CCA, in coordination with the Bureau of Land Management and other organizations, led educational programs with more than 2,000 students and led community programs and lectures with more than 300 participants within the McInnis Canyons, Dominguez-Escalante, and Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Areas (NCAs). In addition, CCA led stewardship programs with over 40 volunteers to wrap cottonwood trees and pick up trash in heavily-used areas within the McInnis Canyons and Dominguez-Escalante NCAs. CCA now has over 250 members, 100+ volunteers, and is supported by many individual and business donors. We are very grateful for the support of the community to help us advance our mission.

I am looking forward to leading CCA into the next chapter of our organization, and helping to build upon the strong foundation that we have developed since 2006. One of CCA’s newest goals is to enable every third grader from area school districts to participate in our Nature Knowledge Days educational programs. Our staff is currently busy planning many land-based and river-based educational, outreach, and stewardship programs for the upcoming year. I am very proud of all the great work CCA has done, and am looking forward to a very successful 2020 and beyond!

Best wishes,

Sarah McCall

Executive Director
